Midlife Bucket List – Marathon

I’ve decided that for my 40th birthday I want to run a full marathon.  Full.  As in 26.2 miles.  It’s crazy, I know.  Only a handful of my friends will say, “Yes, I know how you feel!”  The rest will think, “You’re insane!”

So what I need from my running friends or travel savvy friends is a marathon idea for May 2015.  It has to be somewhere awesome, I’m making this a destination.  Somewhere coastal.  Maybe Hawaii.  Or across the ocean somewhere.  Possibly a place where I can take the kids for an awesome auxiliary vacation.  Though I’m not opposed to making it just a husband/wife trip.  Or even a just me getaway.

The only real requirements is a marathon, of course, some awesomeness, and low elevation (I’ll be training in Minnesota, no way am I going to run somewhere high after that). Suggestions?

About perfectday

There is always something bumping around in my head, and if I leave it up there, I will go crazy. So I try to get my thoughts out onto paper (or the current equivalent). Mostly this blog is just for me to keep my sanity, but I also hope there's a nugget or two in there that other people find worth reading.

Kilimanjaro Marathon, perhaps? Then you could take a few days in Zanzibar and relax!
